• KVS Mumbai Region came into existence in 1970. It is located inside I.I.T Campus, Powai, Mumbai. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Regional Office, Mumbai is one of the 25 Regional Offices of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
• There are 48 Kendriya Vidyalayas  (Including Three 2nd shift vidyalayas) with 58667 students as on 31-08-2013 under the jurisdiction of this region spread over different parts of State of Maharashtra excluding Nagpur. Out of 48Kendriya Vidyalayas, there are 35 Kendriya Vidyalayas in Defence Sector, 1 in Project Sector, 10 in Civil Sector and 2 in Institution of Higher Learning.
